Have you ever wanted access to fresh vegetables even in the cold months? Instead of relying on the grocery store to stock overpriced vegetables you can grow them yourself. Imagine what it will be like to go to your window and pick fresh vegetables any time of year. This can happen if you follow the steps in the How to Grow Vegetables Indoors book. You will learn little tips and tricks that will help you to grow a vegetable plant that will thrive regardless of what it's doing outside. You don't even need a green thumb.

All you need to grow vegetables is a good sunny window, preferrably south facing and or a grow light. You need all the potting supplies such as plastic and clay pots, make sure they are well drained. You need a drain tray and of course, potting soil. Aside from that you need either the seeds, seedlings, or a part of the vegetable in order to grow fresh vegetables from your home. Each of the 20 vegetables listed in this book comes with tips and advice on growing a healthy and thriving plant that will yield fresh vegetables you can eat.

Learn how to grow chili peppers, green onions (or scallions), radishes, basil, tomatoes, lettuce, bok choy, parsley, eggplant, carrots, potatoes, mushrooms, beans, peas, garlic greens, microgreens, chives, Swiss chard, spinach, and celery. You will be surprised at how easy each of these vegetables is to grow. You will be happy when you save money on your grocery bill because your fresh vegetables will be available right from your home. This is a good hobby that can become an addictive habit. It is a great way to start a healthy diet and live a healthy lifestyle by having fresh vegetables available.

I found this book to be a nice short intro to indoor gardening, with specific advice for several popular veggie types. I was a little disappointed that it wasn't longer
This publisher always delivers quality books. This book about gardening indoors is an excellent resource. Inside you will find beautiful images of the various types of vegetables that you can grow indoors and specific instructions on how to grow these indoor vegetables.
Indoor Vegetable Gardening is to the point. I've been growing basil and oregano for years, but I had never thought about carrots, onions, and the slew of other vegetables in this book. It tells exactly which container to use and how much drainage is needed. The only problem I have right now is deciding which one to grow next!
The info in this book is not anything that will be of use to anyone trying to start, maintain and have a successful indoor garden. The information found in this book can also be found on the back of vegetable seed packets that are purchased in the growing seasons, just slightly adapted. Does not provide information about pest management (powdery mildew, aphids, etc) pollination (self pollinating varieties, how to hand pollinate, the importance of bees), container sizes, etc). Save your money, this is not at all a complete beginner's guide to indoor vegetable growing.
Whilst there is nothing wrong with this book I simply believe that a beginner requires more than the book offers, and that - as a result - there are better alternatives e.g. McGee & Stuckey's "Bountiful Container"
If your looking to test your green thumb with indoor gardening, this is a simple practical guide to get you started. I've never had any luck with chives, and I'm hopping this guide helps me change this!

The pictures are great and the instructions are easy to understand.
